Remember the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland? (That’s me playing him in my high school play.)
The caterpillar was always asking, “Who are YOU?” And even when the question was answered, he would ask the same question over and over again to get you to really think…to dig deeper and find what was true. Whether you present a unique restaurant concept, or you are a coach with an innate talent, your passion (and who you are) drove your business from the beginning and probably continues to do so.
This season have all the fun you want with your fire sales, Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials, year-end offers, and clever cards. In all the excitement, just don’t lose sight of who you are, and what your brand stands for, while you do.
Remember your four I’s and stay true to the image you want to portray, ensure you are using the messaging that supports your brand as you influence those connected with you, strive for impact—for your customers and yourself—by offering only relevant products and services at a good value, and lastly think about income (that you may drive for your clients or generate for yourself). These are the Four I’s you do not want to lose sight of.
Finally, remember my golden rule of building relationships and momentum in marketing: Give, give more, give again, and then offer.
